A mini session … in a flower field!
Zinnia season is here at Holland Farms! And you don’t want to miss it.
These are BY FAR one of my favorite mini sessions EVER. They are just so fun and beautiful and full of happiness and light. Be prepared to come early to let the kids play at the farm - because yes the zinnia field is at a farm. And they have a corn pit, animals, corn maze, swings, games, pumpkins….and the list goes on and on. Check out Holland Farms online and you’ll see all the things they have to offer. So it’s just such a fun family experience all together and then you can end the evening my taking some fam pictures playing in a flower field! The memories are just so priceless.
WHAT TO EXPECT? Arrive early, bring all the snacks, wipes and maybe even a wagon (I would, and have!). The flower field is a bit of a walk so with littles you will want a stroller or wagon that you’re okay getting a little dusty (it is a farm so let’s be real here). There is a fee to play so you visit Holland Farms ticket booth first and then you’re free to roam around to all the places. On weekdays it’s a little less crowded, but if you want the full experience they normally have food trucks and extra exciting options there on the weekends. All three of my kids love the corn pit - which is basically a huge swimming pool of corn kernels to play with trucks and chill in. Just be prepared to find kernels in their clothes and shoes afterwards (lol!). There are restrooms and areas to wash your hands. You have options on when to play depending on what time you’re doing pictures with me but if you’re going to play first I would bring a change of clothes or an extra shirt for your kids since they will either get dirty or sweaty. And the wipes - don’t forget the wipes to clean hands and faces. However, I always have these with me as well! My mini session will be 15 minutes and we’ll start by getting the more posed shots done first. Then headshots of kids in these beautiful flowers and lots of play/candid/motion shots of everyone playing and just being there together in the flowers. I promise, it’s so worth it.
There is also a sunflower field available to take family pictures in if that is your preference. Just as beautiful and full of happiness and color. Both fields are close together so you can easily chose which is your favorite for your session.
You can book a mini session with me for October 10th or 14th (current dates but more dates could be added!) online HERE! If you’re interested in sunflowers just mention that under the notes section! I can’t wait to see some familiar and new faces!
xoxo,
Valerie :)
